My journey
Wisdom tooth removal
The procedure takes place in the practice’s operating room under local anaesthetic. Here is how to prepare and recover well.

- D-7
Prepare
- Plan two quiet days after the procedure, with no sport or important meetings.
- Buy soft food in advance: fruit purée, yoghurt, warm soups.
- Tell the front desk about any ongoing treatment.
- D-day
The procedure
- Eat normally before you come: the anaesthetic is local.
- After the extraction, bite on the gauze for thirty minutes without talking.
- Take the prescribed painkillers before the anaesthetic wears off, without waiting for pain.
- D+1
Rest
- Ice on the cheek in ten-minute spells; swelling is normal until the third day.
- Warm, soft food, no straw: suction can reopen the wound.
- No tobacco or alcohol, and gentle brushing avoiding the area.
- D+7
Check-up
- Check-up appointment and stitch removal.
- Gradually return to a normal diet.
- Pain increasing after the third day or a persistent bad taste: call us.
